Center Township Volunteer Fire Department is located on SR 54 just South of the Eastern High School. We have a total of 23 members, 20 firefighters and 3 Junior Firefighters. 6 EMT's, and 9 First Responders. As of June 3, 2009 Center Township responded to 177 alarms. We have one paid person on station Monday thru Friday from 8am to 4pm. We also have several volunteers around through the day.
Center Township Fire Department Receives REMC grant
Center Township Fire Department received a $1,000 REMC Community Funds Grant on March 30, 2009. This grant will help us improve our communication system by providing us with an upgraded repeater system. Improving our communication system will help us provide better services to the citizens of Center Township. Center Township Fire Department would like to thank everyone at UDWI REMC for making this possible.
Center Township Fire Department Recieves DNR Grant 2009
Center Township Fire Department received the 2009 DNR grant. The Grant will be $5,000 dollar match from the DNR. Money coming from Center Township Trustee's Office will be $5,015.50.
The grant will go to help all our radio equipment match so every member of the department and every truck will have the same model radios. Center Township Fire Department will be purchasing 7 mobile radios and 9 handheld radios. Center Township Fire Department would like to thank the Department of Natural Resources.
